Eureka! to quote Archimedes

As he jumped into his bath…

Yes,
We have found it!!!!

Throughout 2015 and 2106 the National Parks Organization has been promoting it’s centenary year of 2016.  Their tag line has been “FIND YOUR PARK”

Since our first visit to a National Park in 2002 we have visited 31 of the 59 National Parks and many other places in the National Park’s System – National Seashores, National Lakeshores, National monuments, etc.

Returning to Alaska for summer 2023.  Denali!

It is a very magical place.  Alaska itself makes us want to come back as many times as we can, but Denali National Park just makes us not want to leave!

Maybe we love it because of the system which makes it the least accessible for you to drive in order to protect the ecosystem.  Maybe it is the scenery – we caught about the peak of fall color. Maybe it is the numbers of wide “braided” rivers. Maybe it is because of the varied wildlife we spotted on every trip through the park. Maybe it was the stellar Aurora Borealis we saw two nights ago. Maybe it is because of The Mountain ( we saw it out, as they say, four times!).

Here are some images from the Mountain and the wildlife we saw.  We were fortunate to see four of the “Big Five” in Denali: Grizzly Bear, Moose, Caribou and Dall Sheep.  Unfortunately the Wolf evaded us. Sorry for the long post accommodating so many images.
